Man with Van Longlands Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Longlands in respect of its activities in the United Kingdom. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to act with integrity and transparency in everything we do.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Longlands provides local and regional transport, removals and delivery services to domestic and commercial customers. Our direct workforce is relatively small and primarily employed on a permanent or regular contractor basis. Our main supply chains include fuel providers, vehicle leasing and maintenance companies, equipment suppliers and occasional use of subcontracted transport and labour services.

Although we operate in a sector that can face risks related to temporary labour and subcontracting, we are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in any part of our business or in the services provided on our behalf.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

Man with Van Longlands has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude and human trafficking. This applies to our own activities and to everyone who works with us or on our behalf, including suppliers, subcontractors and other business partners.

We expect all individuals and organisations connected with our operations to uphold the highest standards of ethics and employment practice. Any breach of this policy is treated as serious misconduct and may result in termination of employment, contract cancellation or reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Supplier Standards and Due Diligence

We seek to work only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting workers rights. When initiating or renewing relationships with key suppliers, we consider their approach to labour standards, working conditions and ethical conduct.

Our due diligence activities may include pre-engagement checks, obtaining confirmations of compliance with applicable labour and human rights legislation and assessing the use of agencies or subcontracted labour. We communicate our expectations that workers must be employed voluntarily, paid fairly for their work and treated with dignity and respect.

Supplier Audits and Monitoring

To support our zero-tolerance stance, Man with Van Longlands is working towards enhanced oversight of higher risk suppliers and subcontractors. Where we consider it appropriate and proportionate, we may conduct audits or request evidence to confirm that suitable controls are in place to prevent modern slavery.

These activities may include on-site visits, review of labour practices, verification of identification and right to work documentation for workers employed on our contracts and examination of payment arrangements. If we identify issues of concern, we will take steps to address them promptly, which may include requiring corrective actions, intensified monitoring or ending the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

We encourage all workers, suppliers, subcontractors and customers to report any concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitation connected with our operations. Concerns can be raised directly with management or through established internal reporting routes within the relevant organisation.

Reports can be made confidentially and will be treated seriously. We will investigate all credible concerns and, where appropriate, cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies. We will not tolerate any victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our management team and workers. Training and guidance will be provided, proportionate to roles and responsibilities, to help individuals identify potential indicators of exploitation and understand how to report concerns safely.

We also engage with key suppliers and subcontractors about our expectations in relation to modern slavery, encouraging them to adopt similar awareness and training practices within their own organisations.

Ongoing Review and Continuous Improvement

Man with Van Longlands recognises that preventing modern slavery and human trafficking is an ongoing responsibility. We will review this Statement and our related practices on at least an annual basis and update them where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, industry standards or the nature of our operations and supply chains.

As part of this review, we will consider feedback from stakeholders, the effectiveness of our due diligence and supplier monitoring, and any incidents or concerns raised. Our aim is to strengthen our controls over time and to support a culture where modern slavery is actively identified, challenged and prevented.

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Longlands and applies to the financial year stated at the time of publication. It will be made available to employees, suppliers, customers and other interested parties upon request.
